The Ott's: Jarrett (left) and Daniel (right) |
Daniel Ott, from East Maitland, Australia, has just been awarded a regional student scholarship with Opera Australia. The teen sensation was one of four singers selected from more than 100 applicants from regional New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. He will begin his training in January 2015 and then audition for Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini. He will also work with fellow barihunk Teddy Tahu Rhodes.
Ott began singing around the house when he was nine, working his way from boy soprano to baritone over the last four years.
If you want to catch him live, he'll be performing on November 15th with soprano Kathryn Dries and baritone Blake Parham in the Maitland Arts Council production of Showstoppers: A Night to Remember, which includes arias, songs and duets from the classics and musicals.
